Oxford, UK based Carter Bearings has been expanding again, taking on new staff, enlarging the sales offices and refurbishing the facility from top to bottom as sales reach a record high.
New arrival Valentino Burattini obtained a First in Aerospace Engineering before joining Carter and has already established himself as a valuable team member. His colleague on the desk next door, Nathan Butterfield, is a fellow recent addition to the Carter engineering team too. He recently graduated with a 2:1 in Motorsport Engineering and has rapidly established himself as a knowledgeable resource for customers seeking bearing solutions in his chosen arena.
As the team has expanded, there have also been in-house promotions too. Mel Meader now leads the customer team as Technical Operations Manager, and his colleague Hussain Lalani is now promoted to Lead Business Development Manager. Interestingly, all Carter Bearings staff, whether in the sales or technical departments, are fully trained engineers. “We won’t entertain anything else,” says Mel Meader.
“Our customers rely on us to provide clear guidance and advice on bearing selection for a variety of applications, most of which can be deemed critical and/or safety-critical too. Proven engineering skills are a must for everyone on our team and this includes our ‘Man In America’, Erick Sloan. Erick is our Lead Business Development Engineer for the Americas and arrived with many years of hands-on engineering to his credit. His colleague Jinlong Gao also came to us with significant engineering skills and runs our office in China, where he has already established excellent local relationships across the Asian markets”.
