Amador Granados, sponsored by Zen Group, obtained a bronze medal in Rio 2016

This is a history about how decimals can be the difference between success or failure. And how even a small bearing can help.

After Athens 2004, Amador was competing in Beijing 2008 Paralympics. For only 0.05 Sec, he lost his third place. He realised there that, physical effort is as important as the technology you could get on your bike.

He started to develop a continuous search for getting the most innovative upgrades. But the results were not as expectations.

He got some Ceramic Ball bearings on the internet. Those were ok, but he had some problems with friction. He contacted the Zen Group branch located in Spain and he could explain to them what he was looking for.

He had been European Champion and World Champion but, at the Paralympics, he never could win a medal.

Zen Group thought that it would be great to help this fighter, and we developed some modified bearings for him on 2014.

After some test, he decides that 6001-CE-Si3N4-PTFE-ZEN, and 6901-CE-Si3N4-PTFE-ZEN, were the right ones for his wheels.

Finally, he got 3rd place on the podium in the speed test by equipment, beating his own mark. This bronze of Amador Granados supposed his first Paralympic medal.
