KUKKO, synonymous with solutions for non-destructive disassembly, celebrates its company centenary in 2019. What originated on 1/10/1919 as a production site in the basement of a house, is now a globally active family business in its fourth generation under the leadership of business owner, Michael Kleinbongartz. The market leader with a total of 80 employees is based in Hilden and sells its products in over 100 countries worldwide. Today, KUKKO is no longer just a manufacturer of extractor tools, but rather a solutions provider which uses its know-how and creative vision to ensure that its customers and partners can keep everything running smoothly.
KUKKO “Original” proudly presents a unique range of products with 150 extractor types and 500 insert sizes. Even in its founding year, 1919, the two young entrepreneurs, Alfred Kleinbongartz and Emil Kaiser, demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit that is still key to the corporate development of KUKKO today. 100 years since the introduction of the first small series of threading clips and dies, KUKKO presents a high-quality premium series to commemorate its anniversary year. The “Best of 100 years” promises a best-of selection of the entire range with trend-setting optimizations in design, functionality and feel. The latest generation of KUKKO tools, for example, uses a gold tip that ensures the most material-friendly disassembly ever thanks to its TiN coating. Thanks to this special coating, the service life of KUKKO tools can be increased three or four-fold. The tip is much harder and more resistant to corrosion and chemicals. As a result, the cost of replacement is significantly reduced and working precision is increased. In addition, the soft-touch knurls developed by KUKKO ensure a new dimension in handling and were developed for the first time exclusively for use with the original extractors. Thanks to the optimized shape of the quick adjuster and the use of a second, soft component, the knurls give the extractor more grip and a high clamping force making it perfectly comfortable to use.
“In addition to the pronounced developer gene, which is in every KUKKO product,” Michael Kleinbongartz also stresses “the importance of shared success across the team.” Thus, all employees are committed to thinking ahead and dynamically shaping the future. A jointly formulated mission statement, which has recently been confirmed by customers, brings together our content-related corporate goals and our company culture. As a global solutions provider, KUKKO will successfully overcome future challenges and keep things moving with its know-how and creative vision.
The new company claim //Pull forward sums up the essence of our strategic direction. In order to make our image visible and tangible to the outside world, all important communication media in the anniversary year 2019 will be adapted in terms of content and design to the new direction specification. The main media platforms are the company website including the product configurator as well as an impactful product brochure which presents exclusive business partners with the latest and most popular products of our anniversary year. What is more, there will be a fitting celebration to mark this birthday, involving all employees, customers and business partners.
In order to optimally manage the operative business, KUKKO relies on a higher-than-average level of digitalization. To this end, processes across departments are controlled by means of central information and communication technologies. The most important maxim for all that we do is that all the data we record is inviolable. The minimization of errors creates moments of synergy as a result and is therefore a decisive factor in our day-to-day work allowing us to make good on our commitment to service quality. Moreover, the ongoing evolution of intelligent knowledge management is a key driver of success in achieving the stated vision of being a global solutions provider by 2025. As, even in turbulent times of change, KUKKO will “use its courage and willpower to assert its role as a pioneer and grow with future technologies,” Michael Kleinbongartz says with confidence.
